Abstract

When public library service to children in this country began in the late 1800's - more than 80 years ago - I doubt if anyone took the time to ask or answer the question posed for this workshop: "Is There a Future in Library Services for Children?" It must have been clear to the innovators of this service that there was a "future" since there had been no "past."
